London Riots: L.A. & Rodney King 2011 Style

I am deeply saddened by the untimely death of Harry Potter actor that was so tragically gunned down by the police in London. I don't know all of the facts as to his demise; however, my heartfelt prayers go out to his family.

Now, having said that, what the hell is wrong with these people in London. Do we have to have the L.A riots all over again? Did we not learn from the Rodney King incident that this not the way to handle such matter and this is in no way is protected by your 5th amendment right. Your 5th amendment right entitles you to a "peaceful demonstration". What is going in London is a long way from peaceful and why do we have to destroy the city, businesses that people have worked so hard to build. I don't see these people tearing up their own property.

I am calling for an immediate CEASE FIRE!!!

Eric is not your counterparts on the show.... you guys do a lot of drink throwing and lip smacking and nothing ever happens...... welll except for Evelyn and Tammi. But really.... do you think that was mature at all?

So.. now let's talk about Royce........ why is she even still on the show... as a matter of fact why is it even called Basketball wives? Aren't all of the women ex-basketball wives... Ok so that's beside the point.

Susie.. oh Susie.... so want's to be in "the circle" that she will sell out anyone..... Meeka did not stand a chance and I just don't understand why Meeka could not see that Susie was just not on her side. Speaking of Meeka.... what happened to her. I think it carries us through the lives of blacks and whites during that time period and provided a realistic account of what people really felt. Ok forgive me if I begin to rant right now but I think it is utterly ridiculous that our country is such turmoil that our government can not come together and do what's best for the country. Instead we want to punish the country because we don't like the color of the skin of our president. We have taken a serious responsibility and made it about not allowing this one individual have their way!!!!!!!!!Seriously...... is this what this country has come to. We are day away from not defaulting on our debt!!!

Well.......I knew it; but I expected it sooner! It's official J. Lo and Marc Anthony are calling it quits. But are you really surprised. I'm not. I knew J. Lo only married Marc because of his Latino origin and to make babies......at least she could say that she preserved the bloodline.

J.Lo is a sister at heart and she wants a brother...... or does she?

I'm just saying... it's all suspect but the bottom line if J.Lo is happy and March is happy and the children are happy. What else matters?

2 games in a row...... they came back from a deficit with less than 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter and they pull it off! I mean phenomenal basketball where there is defensive and offensive strategies in place.

Now I know that many of you watch Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) and I need to know what you really thought of Wendy Williams! I am definitely open to your view on this one.

I honestly thought she was a hot mess and obviously she did too because she kept saying her Wendy Williams voice, "i'm not a dancer"! Well, most of the people on DWTS are not dancers with the exception of the professionals. Come on, give me a break. It's like she did not even put forth an effort. Like, Seriously!!!!

FANTASIA BARRINO: At a low point or publicity stunt?

Well....I'm just gonna put it out there and you guys be the judge. The suicide attempt; was it a real attempt to end her life or a strategy to bring attention to her new cd that dropped last week?

I think it's a little ironic that she was pretty much in hiding for the week thereafter and her publicist consistently denied the allegations that she intentionally took those pills in attempt to kill herself and then BAM the album drops and she is on the media circuit saying, yes, it's true - I tried to kill myself. Oh yea, by the way my album drops tomorrow or my album dropped today and this whole thing has made me want to get "Back to Me". Fascinatingly interesting title, "Back to Me" and then the whole theme of her suicide recovery is "back to me".

Before you guys slander me with your responses, please know that I like Fantasia. I think she can blow but as a blogger; it is my job to look at all aspects of the situation.

Now as many of you have probably noticed; there have been a lot of "coming out of the closet" and "bi-curious" activity on tv. I am just wondering if this is indicative of our society and the networks attempt to be more accepting of the GLB Community or is it just a ploy to increase ratings?

I believe Ellen was for the first celebrity to "come out" in real life and we saw the toil it took on her but look at her now. Gray's Anatomy has a lesbian couple, 90210 has a bi-curious character; Desperate housewives also has a bi-curious character who has embarked upon a new lesbian relationship. Not only that but Meredith Baxter Birney came out this year or was the latter part of 2009? Nonetheless..... it's seems to be an on-going trend or is it?

I would like to know what you guys think.

Fantasia Barrino: The Color Purple in L.A.

Well.... it's been a minute since I've posted anything but I guess it's time to catch up...

I have seen the Color Purple on Broadway and also in Dallas, TX and thought you know it would be great to see Fantasia in the Color Purple. So.... being the person that I am; my best friend and I booked tickets to Los Angeles and and went to see the color purple.

Needless to say..... we were totally disappointed at the lack lustre performance. Not only that of Fantasia but the other actors as well.

They all had great voices but lacked the emotion to pull it off. It seems as if the whole cast was on Ridlin.

If you have seen Fantasia in the Color Purple I would love to hear your viewpoint.

Tiger Woods: Enough Said

Now that the media has given us a little reprieve from the Tiger Woods drama; perhaps we can get a true perspective on the situation.

If I recall correctly, Tiger Woods is a professional golfer. He is exceptional at his job. However, what I don't recall is when he switched from mortality to immortality? Can someone answer that question for me?

Don't get me wrong; I whole-heartidly believe that one should honor the committments of their marriage and be faithful. However, is it not a personal matter when one doesn't uphold those vows? Who are we to take away one's privacy and ability to make a living because they do not live up to our "moral" code. Why is it that we as society, find it necessary to put people on pedestals and make them role models (instead of allowing them to be human) and then when they fall (because they usually do) we want to strip them of everything because we were disappointed.

I hear you, I hear you saying that they accepted that position of role model, etc when they chose to be a public figure. But I find some level of contradiction here. Yes, he is a professional athelete but is this not his career just as we have our careers. Are we punished in our jobs because we fail to uphold the moral standards of others?

The media continues to invade the lives of these celebrities and make what should be a personal matter, very public.

The gift guide for "People of Color"- Interesting

I was forwarded an interesting article today that was entitled, "New York Times raises eyebrows with gift guide for 'people of color'". Now excuse me if I seem a little offended by the addition of this new gift guide but it would imply that 'people of color' do not enjoy the same type of gifts as caucasian. I'm a little dumb founded by this.

Not only am I offended by this but it was also written by an African American reporter. It would seem that instead of moving forward; we are moving backwards.

A couple of questions, why does their have to be a distinction made between African Americans and anyone else as far as gifts are concerned or how miliary life. When the fact of the matter is, we are all human and how various likes and dislikes and regardless to color - we all have feelings.

I would like to hear from you guys on this. I am open to your view.

DEFINITION OF A DIVA!

I know many of you have heard the song by Beyonce entitled "Diva". According to the lyrics of the song, Diva is a female version of a hustler.

I have really contemplated over those lyrics and I can't seem to come to a resolve on that definition. Now don't get me wrong, I love the song as far as the beat is concerned and the lyrics are catchy.

However, I find it a little hard to swallow that a "diva is a female version of a hustler". I've always thought of a diva as a celebrated singer or someone who was rare and outstanding in their craft. Definitely not a hustler. Hustler is defined as someone who obtains money deceitfully and a prostitute.

So, I ask you- do you agree that a Diva is a female version of a hustler?

Over the last couple of weeks, the media has bombarded us with stories about Twitter and Tweeting. I just want to know have you gotten caught up in the "following"?

Everyone from the white house to Harpo studio's is tweeting and it is just crazy!

I wonder how long this fad will last? Twitter has been around for some time now but over the last month or so it has really gotten a lot of publicity. When I wake up in the morning, Good Morning America is tweeting; when I go to bed at night, TMZ and ABC is tweeting.

I have spent most of my evening trying to connect my converter boxes only to find out that I need to purchase new antennas.

I must admit that I am a little peturbed about this situation. When the announcement was first made the advertisement made it sound like it was going to be a very simple and inexpensive process.

Oh contraire! Simple it has not been and it does not look like it's going to be inexpensive either.

I would love to hear your experiences with this dtv converter phenom.

It seems like Christmas is all about getting the right gift? In my opinion, just ask the person what they want and get it! I'd rather give them something that they want and will use then get them something that I think they want and then they never use it or wear it and my money is wasted.

I love seeing the joy on their faces when it's what they really wanted.

So.... what did you ask Santa to bring you? I asked Santa for enough money to buy the ones I love the things that they wanted and needed most, even if it was money.

Ok..... It seems that everytime I've turned on the tv and radio this week, Bill Cosby has been on there or there were advertisement for his upcoming appearance. Oprah, Good Morning America, Meet the Press................

Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed Bill Cosby in the Cosby Show and Fat Albert and all.... but since when did this make him the standard by which all are judged and since when did he become an authority on raising children and supporting your offspring.

Ooops................ especially when he has a daughter outside of his marriage and he did not provide child support for. My question for Bill is....... you criticize every aspect of the black community but I have heard very little of what you have done to aide in its reformation (since it is so bad).

Oh my.... are we saying that Bill Cosby is a dead beat dad. Surely we jest.............

Now, I know that it's like the hot topic on every one's list and we just can't get enough of Brittany Spears losing custody of her children to KFed but when is enough enough?

I think one of Brittany's problem is that she does not have any privacy and she is not allowed to be human. Everything she does, says, wears is scrutinized and even blown out of proportion.

Well.... I'm not Michael Basin...... but I want to know what you think about Jenna 6 and all of the attention that Jenna, LA is getting as a result of the incident.

We see injustice done everyday to white, blacks, hispanics, etc. but are coalitions formed to protect the rights that have been violated. In the city where you live, do you see people picketing and protesting for the rights of those who have been wrongly done?

Don't get me wrong...... I do believe that these young men's rights were indeed violated, however, shouldn't we at least be consistent in our efforts?
